Sony Xperia Sola hadir dengan selogan “hibur dirimu dengan sebuah kesan keajaiban” merupakan smatphone dengan keajaiban menyentuh tanpa disentuh, kenapa demikian Ponsel Android Xperia sola memiliki sentuhan mengambang (floating touch™) – cukup gerakkan jarimu di atas tautan untuk menyorotnya. Karena Sony Xperia sola menggunakan  layar 3.7' FWVGA (480x854) Retina display yang memakai teknologi BRAVIA mobile dan kaca tahan gores.

Selain itu di dalamnya terpasang chipset NovaThor U8500 dengan prosesor 1GHz dual-core, ditambah kamera 5MP yang bisa merekam video 720p plus speaker stereo dengan xLOUD. Xperia sola memiliki satu fitur menarik baru yang disebut Sony sebagai 'floating touch'. Seorang pengguna cukup menempatkan jari di atas layar tanpa menyentuh kacanya dan jari tersebut akan bertindak seakan-akan seperti sebuah kursor yang bisa digunakan di browser untuk menandai suatu link atau tautan.
